Sonic the Hedgehog first came out on June 23, 1991 for Sega Genesis. It’s a platform game developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. The player follows Sonic, an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog who can run at supersonic speed, on his quest to defeat Dr. Robotnik.
It is the first main installment in the series and the first overall.
